New Post has been published on http://lateformovies.com/the-fault-in-our-stars-2014/The Fault in Our Stars (2014)2014,
dir. Josh Boone
Starring:
Shailene Woodley
Ansel Elgort
Nat Wolff
Willem Dafoe
Sad yet beautiful.
Pretty much the same reaction I had when I first read the book. I am just so glad that the movie seemed to be close to the book, if not it’s already like the book. I wouldn’t want to have another disappointment in books being adapted into movies.
Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. They both suited the role of Hazel and Gus – two fictional characters that ,I must admit, are so close to my heart. I thought they really are perfect in portraying both characters. That goes to Nat Wolff who played Isaac in the movie, as well. I can’t ask for a better cast. Oh, an exception – Willem Dafoe. As much as I love him in his former roles in movies such as The Boondock Saints and Spiderman, his appearance and his portrayal of Van Houten is such a disappointment. I admit I’m not really into Van Houten’s participation in the book. In the movie, it’s a total ‘I don’t like it.’
So yeah, it’s a movie about cancer so it’s bound to be sad but wait until you figure out why it’s beautiful.

Starring:
Russell Crowe

Ben Foster
Christian Bale, Russel Crowe and Logan Lerman. These three really made the movie worth watching. Aside from the really cool Western setting in the 20s, their acting is the best part of the movie. And the scene stealer? Holy asdhljhgld Ben Foster. You really are one hell of a creepy guy with your stare and your voice. Gave me the creeps.
I am glad that I watched this movie. It just added my fascination with historical settings most especially Western ones – where Indians, ranchers, robbers and Apaches are all over.
And I just found out that the movie is a remake of the 1957 film with the same title. I think I really need to see this 1957 film. I mean, I really should! Right?!

What’s mine these days? CHANDELIER by SIA.
I have been humming the song for days now. Maybe because I always see the music video in music channels and I always watch the video in YouTube. The girl dancing in that skin-tone-suit is actually mesmerizing. I love her whole routine. Brilliant, actually! Great job, Maddie Ziegler!!
My favorite line in the song:

It sucks when you know someone that deals with drinking to ease all the pain away.

dir. Louis Leterrier
Starring:
Sam Worthington

Gemma Arterton
i have been really interested in Greek mythology ever since reading Rick Riordan’s novels, that’s why I was excited in watching with this one. But oh, what happened?! I was disappointed. One, Sam Worthington. I don’t hate him or anything, but I am not really impressed with his acting. Two, I was kind of disappointed with the special effects. It could have been better. I wish it was better then maybe I won’t be annoyed with Sam being there and all.
Ralph Fiennes passed as Hades. Always pictured Hades to be like him ever since he started playing as Voldemort. LOL. Sorry about that Ralph! And of course, Liam Neeson – the always that good guy in the movies – passed as Zeus.
I think I have to go watch the 1981 Clash of the Titans. A lot of people has been saying it’s cooler. I might be impressed with it than this one.
